The funeral for Hilda M. Harrison was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Officiating was Pastor Jim Larson of the Christian Church of Ashland. Interment was at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California.
Mrs. Harrison, 94, of Ashland, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at home. She was born in Gloster, Mississippi to Rosalee and Malcolm Forman. She was raised in Mississippi and sang professionally with her sisters, Maxine and Louise forming the musical group "The Forman Sisters." She later worked 20 years for Sears and Roebuck Company.
On September 25, 1932 in New York, New York she married Harry Harrison, a professional jazz trumpet player, who preceded her in death in 1987. She moved to Hollywood, California in 1933 and to Ashland in 1996.
Mrs. Harrison attended the Glassell Park Baptist Church in California and the services conducted at the Mountain View Retirement Center by the Christian Church of Ashland.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Robert T. Harrison of Ashland; and former daughter-in-law Elizabeth Houlihan; one brother Lamar Forman; one sister Margie Hightower; and a nephew Charles Forman.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brother and one sister.
Arrangements under the direction of the Litwiller - Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
