Carlene Watters

Carlene Watters, 70, of Ashland, entered into the Lord's loving arms, having passed away at home on Monday, February 27th, 2006. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her admirable life at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4th, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland, corner of Siskiyou Blvd. & Walker Ave. Immediately following, there will be a reception in memory at the Healy residence, 120 Clay St. Ashland.

Carlene was born in Butte Montana on August 4th, 1935, the second daughter of Carl & Isabella Sparks. She graduated from Butte High School class of 1953 and then married John F. McCartan. They had two children in Butte then moved to Oregon in 1959 and had three more children. Carlene was very passionate and enjoyed music in every facet; signing, playing the piano, or listening to her favorite old hits. She also loved reading and gardening. She worked as grocery checker for many years and an Administrative Assistant for the EPA, retiring in 1999. Carlene moved to Ashland in March of 2000, where she lived out the remainder of her life.

She is survived by her former husband and best friend, Jack McCartan; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Kimberlee McCartan, Kristina Healy (Greg); — sons and daughters-in-laws, Daniel McCartan (Nancy), Martin McCartan (Bev), William C. McCartan (Kimberly); — sisters-in-law, Judy Sparks, Joanita Munoz, Rosemarie Perkins; 2 brother-in-laws, William E. McCartan, Thomas McCartan; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents Carl & Isabella Sparks; brothers, John, Richard, Robert, Gerald and Edward Sparks; Sister Dorothy Jean Coyne; Spouse, John Watters (11 years) and Theodore Fehly; Sister-in-laws, Helen Sparks, Geraldine Sparks; Brother-in-laws, Jack Coyne, James McCartan.

Donations can be made in her memory to Providence Medical Center Hospice of Southern Oregon (541-732-5193).
