A celebration of the life of Eva Ruth Phillips will be at 12:00 noon Friday at the home of her grandson at 5090 Rock Way in Central Point. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mrs. Phillips, 79, of Central Point, died Sunday, March 26, 2006. She was born Sept. 20, 1926 in Virden, IL. On Feb. 23, 1967 in Reno, she married Howard James Phillips, who preceded her in death in 2001.

She had lived in the Rogue Valley since 1943, moving here from Wyoming. She had worked for Labor Temple Pharmacy for 23 years, before her retirement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian in Jacksonville and her hobbies were gardening, golf and reading. She had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include: a daughter, Susan Schwartz, Central Point; a son, Ronald Sanford, Portland; two step-daughters, Barbara Northrop, Medford; Maureen Nott, Portland; a step-son, Steven Phillips, Portland; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
