Ataji Anthony Dominguez
Ataji Anthony Dominguez Duca, passed away Sunday night April 2, 2006 in Ashland, Oregon. He is survived by his mother, Loren Duca; and brother, Joel Escandon, from Ashland; his sister, Sonrisa Dominguez Mayden from Beaverton; and father, Josman; and sisters, Xian and Estrella Dominguez in Bogota, Colombia.
Mr. Dominguez was born in Neiva, Huila, Colombia on October 14, 1972. His family later moved to Ashland, where he lived off and on for 27 years. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Ashland Middle School and Ashland High School, University of Washington, and Southern Oregon University. He also was an AIFS Exchange Student in France for his junior year. He received his BA in History and Chemistry from Southern Oregon University.
His passion was learning. When he wasn't watching the history channel, he was reading or listening to dozens of books a week. His dream was to teach or become a pilot.
Ataji was a loving son and brother. He had a kind spirit and servant's heart - he was compassionate and generous to others, always ready to lend a hand.
Ataji had worked at the Clinica Del Valle as a medical records secretary, and and at a private clinic. He later worked as a private Health Caregiver. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends who knew him well.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Ashland Christian Fellowship on Hersey & Oak.
