The funeral service for Eleanor Marie Pitts will be at l:00 p.m. on Friday at the Eagle Point National Cemetery Shelter.

Mrs. Pitts, 81, formerly of the Rogue Valley, died Friday, April 14, 2006 in Upland, Calif. She was born Sept. 7, 1924 in Pendleton, Ore. On May 19, 1962 in La Puente, Calif. she married Isaac "Lee-Ike" Pitts, who preceded her in death in 1999.

She was raised in Oregon and moved to California in 1962, moving back here in 1990. In 1999 she moved back to California to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Pitts had been a Girl Scout leader in California when her children were younger. She also had been a nurses aide in Oregon and California. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, cross stitch and playing the organ.

Survivors include: three daughters, Debra Adams, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Elaine Vail, Idaho, Lynda Geyer, Naevarre, Fla.; a son, Jerry Best, McMinnville, Ore.; a brother, Virgil Franklin, Medford; two sisters, Velma Keeling, Medford, Alberta Bailey, Baker City; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; — 1/2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, Dudley, Leo and Marvin Franklin.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Mortuary, Bellinger and Arnold Lane, Medford.
