Violet Ruth Stagg

Violet Ruth Stagg, age 80, died peacefully in Ashland on Thursday, April 13, 2006. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church in Jacksonville on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11:00 am.

Ruth was born to Clarence and Vera Yocum in Rockford, Ohio on February 13, 1926. She and her family moved to Oregon to Flounce Rock Ranch in the '30s.

Ruth married Harold A. Stagg on May 27, 1945 in Medford and moved to Jacksonville.

Ruth worked at FW Woolworths 34 years till the store closed.

She was a charter member of Jacksonville Assembly of God church and the church's Sunday school secretary for 54 years.

She enjoyed knitting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Her survivors include, son, Joe Stagg of Jacksonville; daughter, Esther Craven of Ethel, Wash.; and John Stagg of Jacksonville.

She has one granddaughter, five grandsons, one great-grandson, two nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stagg, two sisters, one nephew, and her mother and father.
