Margaret M. O'Dell

Margaret M. O'Dell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, April 7th.

Margaret was born in Virgil, South Dakota on September 3, 1915. She moved to Medford with her first husband Jack Harper, now deceased, in 1934. Together, in partnership with his brother Jule and his wife Ann Harper, they owned Harper Meats and Lockers. Margaret also belonged to the Sheriff's Mounted Posse Auxiliary during those years.

She later furthered her education by becoming a Lab Technician, first employed by the old Sacred Heart Hospital and later by R.V.M.C. In later years, she returned to R.V.M.C. as a volunteer Pink Lady.

Margaret later married the love of her life, Clarence "Ross" O'Dell, a Sergeant Major in the US Army. They traveled together to various army bases including Germany before settling in North Bend, Oregon where she spent her time competing in growing and showing ribbon-class Dahlias. In Medford she continued this passion by joining The Jacksonville Garden Club.

After Ross' passing, she returned to the Medford area to be closer to her two sons, Conrad and Nathan Harper and their families.

Margaret is survived by her son Conrad Harper, sister Fern Koulda and numerous grand and great grand children.

Margaret will be remembered as a loving, caring mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be performed by Pastor Mark Burton at the Medford Friends Church, 525 Debarr Ave. Medford on Friday, April 28 at 1:30 P.M.
