Charley "Chuck" J. Marrs

Chuck Marrs passed away at his home on May 7, 2006, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born July 4, 1926 in Waco Texas, to Charley J. Marrs and Floris Ashcraft.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He was an aviation machinist mate 2nd class, and was awarded several ribbons and medals during his enlistment in World War II.

He married his wife, Elaine, on August 1, 1983.

He spent 20 years with Johnson Auto Parts as a salesman. He owned That Store Deli in Jacksonville and KC's Tavern in Medford. Following his retirement, he worked at Sears automotive for 10 years.

Chuck was a member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, playing shuffleboard, and pool.

Chuck's survivors include his wife of 23 years, Elaine; five sons, Jim and Francine Marrs of Henderson, Nev., Randy and Linda Marrs of Dundee, Ore., Randy and Elaine Tooley, of White City, Nick Tooley of Central Point, and Chris and Alissa Tooley of Central Point; three daughters, Julie (Marrs) and Larry Spray of Lake Oswego, Ore., Gina Parker of Tillamook, Ore., Sherry and Danny Mello of Tillamook, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Millie Henderson and Onna Lee Bartlett, both of Ferris, Tex.

Chuck loved life, and everyone loved him.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, May 13, at the Eagles Lodge in Medford. Contributions may be made to Providence Hospice.
