Louis Lee Stevenson

Louis "Steve" Stevenson, born March 12, 1929, in Gerber, Calif. passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2006, after a brief illness.

Steve attended school in Bend and La Pine, Oregon. Soon after high school he joined the Navy and became a veteran of WWII. Moving to Prospect, Ore., in the early 1950's, he soon became a local businessman who was known for his goodwill and good humor. In October, 1985, Steve married Pauline MacDonald and together they operated the Prospect Sanitation District until his death.

Steve was a devoted outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing; taking every opportunity to enjoy the solitude being outdoors brought him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at the Prospect Church of the Nazarene, 471 Mill Creek Dr, Prospect, Ore. Interment will take place in Madras, Ore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Louis Stevenson to Prospect High School in support of their athletics program.

Steve is survived by his sister, Winifred Edwards of Prineville, Ore.; son, Mike Stevenson, of Central Point, Ore.; daughter, Darlene Larson of Carson City Nev.; stepsons, Melvin Agee of Roseburg Ore., Larry Agee of Boise, Idaho, Jerry Agee of Eagle Point, Ore., Evelyn Wilder of Medford, Ore., Jeanette Andersen of Medford, Ore., and Jim MacDonald of Oxnard, Calif. Additionally, Steve was blessed with 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom were equally blessed by him.
