Jan loved the Lord and loved her children, they meant the world to her. Our beloved mother lost her courageous battle against cancer on June 29, 2006 at the age of 72. A viewing will be held on July 5, 2006 at 5:00-8:00 p.m. and July 6, 2006 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Perl Siskiyou Funeral Home, 2100 Siskiyou Blvd. Medford, Ore. A memorial service will be held July 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 426 W. 6th St. Medford , Ore.
Jan was born to Guy L. Meister and Hazel S. (Meister) Corlett on March 20, 1934 in Seattle, Washington. She has a step-brother, James Corlett (deceased) and a half-brother, Jack Meister.
At Washington State University she earned a BA in Speech in 1956 and later earned a MA in 1960 from University of Washington. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority at Washington State University. Throughout her life she excelled as an actress in many College and Community Theater Productions. In addition, she taught Speech and Oral Interpretation at Humbolt Sate College in Arcata, Calif. and The College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Calif. Jan retired in 2001, after 17 years working as an Instructional Aide at Orchard Hill Elementary School. She loved the children, her co-workers and everything about her job.
Jan has three children: Sharon (Crum) Hatfield, Robert B. Crum IV, and Joanne (Crum) Baldwin; and three grandchildren: Logan Hatfield, Carissa Baldwin, and Kyle Baldwin.
She loved her home of 35 years in the Rogue Valley and being an active member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. Jan was very busy with all her volunteer work; RVMC (Pink Lady), Food and Friends Program, and The Children's Advocacy Program. In her spare time she attended Bible Study, played bridge, and cared for her two dogs and cat.
Jan Crum was a very kind, loving, generous,
and caring mother and friend.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
