Charlotte Sweet, 91, of Medford, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006 at KC's Adult Foster Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church in Medford. The Rev. Dr. Joyce DeGraaff will officiate. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery, Sams Valley.
Charlotte was born June 25, 1915 in Durango, Colo., a daughter of Carl Robert and Lola Mae Hammond Ludwig. The family moved to Oregon in 1924. She attended Roosevelt School and was a memeber of the 1931 graduating class of Medford High School.
On January 2, 1931, in Klamath Falls, Ore., she married Marshall B. Sweet, who preceded her in death in 1981.
She attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland, Ore., receiving both a Baccalaureate and Master's degree in education.
Mrs. Sweet taught for 20 years in Disctric 549 C. She taught second and third grades at Washington, Hoover and Roosevelt Elementary Schools before retiring in 1977.
An ordained elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Chruch, Charlotte sang in the Choir for 50 years, taught Sunday School, folded bulletins, and ran the Food Bank for many years.
Charlotte enjoyed oil painting, traveling, camping and picking huckleberries with family and friends.
She was a GREAT mom and was always there for her family in any way possible! She shall be missed!
Survivors include; Phil Sweet of Sams Valley, and Stan Sweet of West Linn, Ore.; two brothers; Ernst Ludwig of Monarch Beach, Calif., and Mason Ludwig of Eugene, Ore.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jesse Matheny, and brother, Wallace Ludwig.
