Glenn L. Burchfield

Glenn L. Burchfield, beloved brother, uncle and friend, died May 21, 2006 in Spokane, Wash., following a brief battle with cancer. He was 78.

He was born October 8, 1927, in Brockway, Pennsylvania, to Raymond and Grace (Gaupp) Burchfield.

He grew up and attended school in Pennsylvania. In December, 1945, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as an Aviation Electrician's Mate until being honorably discharged in October 1947.

He then joined his family in Medford, Ore., where they had relocated. In June 1953, he received a B.S. degree in Agriculture--Agricultural Engineering from Oregon State College in Corvallis.

He worked at various jobs in Oregon, Nevada and California. In 1986, when he retired, he was working as an employee of the General Services Administration in Stockton, Calif.

He then lived in Medford, Ore., until moving to Newberg, Ore. in 1996. In March 2006, he moved to Spokane, Wash., to live with his niece and her husband.

Throughout his life he was an avid amateur photographer. He was also an active adherent of the Eckankar religion, for which he was a member of the clergy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bruce. Survivors include his sisters, Mildred Luschen of Medford, Ore., and Marie Sessions of Seattle, Wash.; his nieces and nephews and their families, Doris Robinson, Philip Luschen, and Timothy Burchfield, of Medford, Ore., Nancy Dickinson of Warsaw, Poland, Yvonne Bruesch of Spokane, Wash., Dian Lane of LaCenter, Wash., Deborah Watkins of McKenna, Wash., and Denise Newman of Burien, Wash.; and his dear friend, Anne Roberts of Newberg, Ore.
