The funeral for Edwin Charles Hanson will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Litwiller Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Interment will be at Scenic Hills Memorial Park, Ashland.

Mr. Hanson, 90, of Talent, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at home. He was born November 21, 1915 at Cloud County, Kans., the son of Myrtle and Charles Hanson. On September 17, 1938 at Clay Center, Kans., he married the former Winona Lorene Hanson, who preceded him in death in 1994.

Mr. and Mrs. Hanson lived in Washington, D.C. from 1938 to 1944, when Edwin entered the United States Army. He served during World War II in the Infantry Division #134 of Company D.

In 1950 they moved to Talent, Ore. from Kansas where he worked as a mill worker for Steve Wilson Lumber. He retired in 1980. Mr. Hanson enjoyed watching birds and other animals, fishing, and was active in local senior centers. He was a past member of the Lions Club and the Elks Lodge.

Surviving are: a son & daughter-in-law, Terry & Linda Hanson of Springfield, Ore.; and a daughter & son-in-law, Julie & Jerry Baer of Milwaukee, Ore.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
