Junior Loren Walden
Junior "Jim" Loren Walden, 84, of Phoenix, Ore. died August 19, 2006. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
Jim was born December 3, 1922 in Bingen, Wash. to Loren and Elsie Walden (deceased). On December 4, 1941 in Grants Pass, he married Marian Walden (deceased). He moved to Phoenix from Madras, Ore. in 1974.
Jim worked for 40 years delivering home and farm heating fuel for Union Oil Co., he also worked for a mail route for a few years. He loved music; he played for seniors in a band called the Oval Tones. He played the tenor sax. He attended First Christian Church of Madras and was a Commander of the American Legion in Madras. Jim served in the U.S. Army during WWII; 10 month front line in Berlin; was in the Normandy Invasion; five major battles; he was discharged November 21, 1945.
He is survived by his sons, James L. Walden of Las Vegas, Nev. and Eldon "Dean" Walden of Phoenix, Ore.; a daughter, Shirly M. Durfee of Tigard, Ore.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
