Shirley Ann (Hutchinson) Pipkin
Shirley Ann (Hutchinson) Pipkin, 79, of Talent, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Providence Hospital after a long struggle with peripheral artery disease with which she coped with dignity and grace.
Mrs. Pipkin was born in Alameda, Calif. on January 14, 1927 and moved to Ashland, Ore. in 1943. Mrs. Pipkin was married to Richard (Bill) Kaegi in 1946. Mr. Kaegi proceeded her in death in 1964. In 1967 she married Roy H. Pipkin with whom she enjoyed 40 years of loving companionship.
Friends and family will remember Shirley for the wonderful sense of humor and her contagious smile and laughter. Shirley loved to play bridge, poker & other games. She was also an enthusiastic volunteer at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Pipkin of Talent; her son, John Kaegi and wife, Anna, of Jacksonville, Fla.; her son, Tom Pipkin and his wife, Debby, of Ojai, Calif.; her daughter, Marsha Duffield and her husband, Jim, of Shady Cove; and her daughter, Sheryl Padilla of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; and six-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Cleo (Hutchinson) Wilson of Talent.
Besides Shirley's parents, William and Bertha Hutchinson; she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Jimmy, Bill and Tom; and sister-in-law, Jackie Hutchinson.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Club House in Mountain View Estates on Valley View Road in Talent, Ore. on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. All friend and family are invited to come to the memorial service.
The family would like to thank the many friends who have sent cards and letters and for the many phone calls of loving friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Salvation Army.
