Kevin S. Griffeth

Kevin S. Griffeth

Kevin S. Griffeth's life was tragically ended August 26, 2006 in a commercial diving accident in the Gulf of Mexico. He was 39.

After attending Medford schools and graduating from Medford High School, he worked at White City Plywood for five years before enlisting in the Army. He served in the Persian Gulf War and Korea.

When his term of duty ended, he attended the Diving Institute of Technology in Seattle. After graduating in August 1996, Kevin began his career as a commercial deep sea diver, working for a diving company serving the oil industry in the Gulf of Mexico.

Kevin loved racing motorcycles, off-road four-wheeling, snowmobiling, scuba diving and was an avid NASCAR fan. His spirit of adventure and affinity for living on the edge led him to his diving career.

During his summers at home in Medford, he would spend time with his family at their Diamond Lake cabin, where he would fish and enjoy the outdoors.

He also loved his friends and family dearly and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them. He was generous and was always there when someone needed him.

Kevin lived in Lafayette, La., with Sheila Faulk, who was the love of his life, along with her children, Kelcie and Chris.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Joan Griffeth of Medford, Ore., loving aunts, uncles, cousins as well as many close friends. Kevin will live on in memory of all who loved him.

No service is planned. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Oregon, 2910 Table Rock Rd., Medford, OR. 97501, or to a favorite charity in Kevin's name. Arrangements are handled by Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary.
