A celebration of life for Jessie Lee Horn, Jr. will be held today, Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, Medford, with Pastor Bob Roth officiating. Burial was in Eagle Point National Cemetery.
Mr. Horn, 75, of Medford and Roseburg, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 in Medford. He was born December 1, 1930 in Webb, Mississippi to Jessie Lee and Minnie Bell (Englebert) Horn. He spend most of his adult life in Oregon between Roseburg and Medford.
Jessie found great joy in ministering and giving of his time for over 30 years in nursing homes and at the Roseburg Gospel Rescue Mission. He loved to spend time riding motorcycles, fishing, playing guitars and wood working. He owned and operated Horn's Custom Cabinets for over 30 years. ("Thanks Dad, for all the sturdy furnishings that will last us a lifetime.")
Survivors include his former wife, Ramona Jean Lewis; four children, Beverly Joyce Marshall, Alan Wayne Horn, Carol Elaine Sanchas, Janet Kristine Bollweg; a sister, Frances Elizabeth Haney; a brother, James Henry Horne; seven grandchildren, Jason, Amy, Jennifer, Andy, April, Sarah, Angela; and four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Lydia, Gabriel and Kaleb. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lucille Copeland and a brother, Carl Edward Horn.
