Fred M. Hogue

Fred M. Hogue

Devoted Father, Husband,

and Friend

Fred was born January 27, 1936 to Everett and Elva Hogue in Central Point, Ore.

His family originally homesteaded near Kirby, Ore. in 1849.

Fred worked for many years at Medford Corporation Lumber after graduating from Crater High School, where he played on the track, baseball, football and basketball teams.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and traveling with his family. He passed his love and respect for the outdoors on to his children.

He enjoyed remembering and passing on his family stories, as well as those of the area he grew up in. In this way, he was an informal historian to those close to him.

On August 27, 1955, he married Patricia E. Howard.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Patricia, include son, Randall Hogue of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Elaine Bittle of Central Point; two brothers, Melvin Hogue of Burney Falls, Calif., and James Hogue of Eagle Point; one sister, Frances Robertson of Medford, Ore.; and one grandchild, Mandi Bittle of Costa Mesa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Elva Hogue, and his brother, Marvin Hogue.

Mr. Hogue passed away at home Monday, October 2, 2006, with his family by his side.

Memorial services for Fred M. Hogue will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, at Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.

Charitable contributions may be made to Rogue Valley Hospice.
