Annie E. Hirt
Annie E. Hirt
Annie E. Hirt, 81, passed away peacefully in the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Ore. on December 4, 2006. Annie died of a massive blood clot to the brain. She was born April 4, 1925 in Lindsay, Mont., the daughter of William and Sarah Rust. She grew up in Eastern Montana. She graduated from High School in Glendive, Mont. in 1942. After working for Boeing for one year in Seattle, Wash., she entered Nurses Training at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. She married Arnold Hirt on March 10, 1947. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. They moved many times to locations in California, Utah, New Mexico and Montana. When Arnold retired in 1972 they moved to Talent, Ore. to be near their children who lived in Oregon and Washington.
Annie enjoyed family and friends and company of the grandchildren but most of all the new arrivals of great-grandchildren. Annie also enjoyed the ten years of winters in Mesa, Ariz. as a snow-bird. The warmth of the winter was making her able to get out those months to meet new friends from the "cold" states. Annie was born in Eastern Montana so she could relate to the tales of very cold weather. She will be missed by these new friends.
Annie is survived by husband, Arnold Hirt; daughters, Karen Asio, Kathie Nelson; sons, Ron Hirt, Randall Hirt; sisters, Faye Concha and Stella Bakken; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the Ashland Kingdom Hall on December 9th.
A family memorial will be held in late May 2007 in Glendive, Mont. for Canadian relatives.
