Hugh I. Trotter, Jr.

Hugh I. Trotter, Jr., 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, December 10, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Perl Funeral Home in Medford. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13th from 10:00-12:00, followed by a graveside service at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Trail Christian Fireside Room at 3:00 p.m.

Hugh was born in Long Beach, Calif. on April 29, 1931. He joined the US Marine Corp on his 17th birthday and served in the Korean conflict, and later in Viet Nam with the US Army, retiring after 21 years of dedicated service. Hugh married his beloved wife, Idonna, on August 14, 1950 and they were blessed with four children. After retiring from the military service Hugh was employed as a deputy sherrif, auto center manager, various sales positions and as owner-operator of Write Office. Hugh had a love of life and enjoyed fishing, computers, ham radio, and collecting cards and coins. He was active in his church serving as church secretary, deacon and elder. Hugh greatly loved his family, and will be missed until that time that we are all reunited with him in heaven.

Hugh is survived by his loving wife, Idonna, after 56 years of marriage, daughters, Cindy Stoehner of Frisco, Texas, Janet Howard of Farmersville, Texas, sons, Hugh Richard Trotter of Virginia Beach, Va. and James Trotter of Medford, Ore. and brother, Robert Trotter of Shady Cove, Ore.. He is also survived by four precious grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hugh and Idonna lived in El Paso, Texas for 36 years and during that time Hugh earned his Associates degree in Business. He fell in love with Oregon and moved to Shady Cove in 2000. Hugh never knew a stranger and made many friends wherever he went.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trail Christian Fellowship building fund or your favorite charity.
