Genevieve Holdridge went to be with her Lord on December 13, 2006. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 23rd, 11:00 a.m., at Community Bible Church in Central Point. Pastor Pete Slusher will officiate.
Genevieve was born November 16, 1918 in Newport, Wash. to George Thayer and Lura Josephine (Weaver). She married Clarence Holdridge on June 11, 1939 at the Talent Methodist Church.
Genevieve was a teacher. She taught for one year in Illahe, Ore at a one room schoolhouse. She taught at Talent Elementary for 34 years. She was also a Sunday School Teacher at Community Bible Church for over 30 years. She belonged to the Gideon Auxiliary, Retired Teachers Association, Talent Historical Society and was a member of Community Bible Church. She enjoyed singing with the Senior Singers of Central Point, reading, traveling and fishing with Clarence.
She is survived by a brother, Jack Walty of Boardman, Ore.; a son, Jerry Holdridge of Eugene; a daughter, Judith Carper of Talent; six grandchildren, Sara, Lynnette, Renee', Ronald, Michael, Brian; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and a brother, Harvey Thayer.
