Brigitte Elisabeth Gesicki

Brigitte Gesicki, a longtime resident of Medford, Oregon passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2006. A native of Germany, Mrs. Gesicki was born May 25, 1920 in Loewenberg, Silesia to Alfred and Elisabeth Leder. She was an elementary school teacher during the Second World War. She married Walter Louis Gesicki and emigrated to the United States in 1948. The couple settled in San Mateo, California where Mr. Gesicki had his own insurance agency.

Upon retirement in 1972, the couple moved to Oregon to take up residence first in Grants Pass and later, in Medford. Mrs. Gesicki, an artist, was a member of the Rogue Gallery & Art Center and a supporter of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Christine Jaenich, and a brother, Hermann Leder. She is survived by her brother, William Leder and sister-in-law, Barbara Leder of Santa Rosa, California, and by her sister-in-law, Marie M. Gesicke of San Mateo, California.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Caring Hands Adult Foster Home and nurses at Asante Health Care for their dedicated services during the past four years.

Arrangements are by Conger-Morris Funeral Directors, Medford. At Mrs. Gesicki's request, no memorial services will be held.
