Barbara Ellen Prose

Barbara Ellen Prose, age 70, of Williams, Oregon passed away on December 29, 2006. She was born March 20, 1936 in La Veta, Colorado to Fred and Louisa Tompkins. The family moved to Holquium, Washington during the war and then to Williams, Oregon in 1946 where they ran a sawmill. Barbara's earliest job was to be the Pond Monkey pushing logs from the pond to the sawmill. She met her husband, Dwayne Prose at age 13 and they married November 1, 1953. She graduated from Grants Pass High School with honors. She loved gardening, fishing, the outdoors and going to church.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dwayne Prose, her seven children, Dwayne (Spark) Prose of Williams, JaNeane Roark of Corbin, Ky., Darrel Prose of Applegate, Judy Smith of Williams, Barbara Craig of Williams, Don Prose of Merlin, Lee Prose of Portland, 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

She is now in the presence of the Lord after a lengthy fight with kidney failure.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the Applegate Community Church. A graveside service will follow.
