Bill (William Floyd) Griffith

Bill (William Floyd) Griffith, born to Evelyn (May Swihart) and Bill (William Persell) Griffith in Bandon, Oregon.

Billy passed away Saturday evening from complications with pneumonia and a weak heart in the presence of his family at Providence Medical Center in Medford, Oregon.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, his two sons, Bill and wife, Juli, Dave and wife, Lori Griffith; his two step sons, Wayne and wife, Jackie and Lowell Ralph; His grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Brandon, and, Carly Griffith, Ben and Janelle Ralph, Brad Ralph and Robert and Krista Atkinson, Erik and Tammy Ralph, Brady and Deena Shean, John and Jason Hardin; His great grandchildren, Tyler Ralph, Ryan, Bailey, and Cole Shean.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nora Fulmer and his grand-daughter, Heather Ralph.

While growing up on East Evans Creek, Billy became a longtime resident of the Rogue Valley and the Wimer area. Billy was working for Good Year Tire Company in Medford when he met and married his wife, Wanda (Elder). Billy went on to own and operate a logging truck while working for Fir Ply in the evenings in White City to support his new family. Billy sold his truck and left Fir Ply to build and operate his small sawmill with the help from his family for many years.

Billy loved nature and the outdoors our valley offered and spent most every weekend camping, hunting and fishing and exploring the Rogue Water Shed and Klamath Lake areas with his family and friends.

Billy was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all who Knew him.

Billy will be laid to rest in the Antioch Cemetery with a private family ceremony. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11th at the Butte Creek Bible Church in Eagle Point by Pastor Carroll Lewis. Afterwards, family and friends will enjoy a potluck while sharing pictures and stories of Billy's life.
