Lauretta Elaine Cole

Lauretta Elaine Cole

Lauretta Elaine Cole, 74, of Talent died on Saturday, March — 2007, at Rogue Valley Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family as she quietly departed this earth for a grand family reunion in Heaven.

Lauretta was born March 5, 1932 in Lebanon Oregon, the only child of Floyd and Eva Hults. She graduated High School at Albany Union High. In November, 1951, she married Harry Cole, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1984. They had three children, Karen, Ricky and Laurie. The family lived several years in Albany and Roseburg. Lauretta moved to Talent shortly after the death of her husband. She worked at Thrifty Drug in Ashland until it closed and then worked at Target until she retired two years ago.

Lauretta loved God, her family, her cats, her dogs and her yard. She loved the beach, wild birds and reading books.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Stevens and husband, John of Talent; son, Ricky Cole and wife, Sandi of Roseburg; and daughter, Laurie VanCurler and husband, David of Medford; grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and wife, Carey, David, Corey and Kristen; and great-grandsons Andrew and Ryan.

Lauretta suffered a stroke in December and had a difficult time recovering from it. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who lovingly cared for her during her illness, including Dr. Beth Leone, the doctors and staff at Ashland Community Hospital, the staff at Linda Vista Nursing and Rehab Center and the staff at RVMC. Her death released her from her pain and struggle and so we will celebrate her homegoing at Valley Bible Fellowship 616 South Pacific Hwy. Talent on Saturday March 10 at 11:00 a.m. We invite all who knew her to join us as we remember her life here with us.
