Amy E. Barnum

Amy E. Barnum, 88, of Tigard, Ore. (formerly Medford) passed away on March 11, 2007 at her foster home in Tigard, Ore. A graveside gathering at the IOOF Cemetery, in Medford, will be determined at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, OR 97239.

Amy was born in 1918 in Grants Pass, Ore. She lived in the Medford area from 1918 to 1938 and then from 1963 to 2005. She married Dr. William L. Barnum on June 20th, 1937 in Medford, Ore. Amy attended school from elementary to high school in Medford, then moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon. She was a housewife and her hobbies included gardening and reading. She was a member of the Southern Oregon Historical Society, Gold Diggers and Alpha Gamma Delta Alumni.

Survivors include her son, Bob Barnum of Portland, Ore.; her sister, Joan Ellis of Medford, Ore.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Dr. William L. Barnum; her son, William L. Barnum, Jr.; and brother, James H. Elliott.

Arrangements by Oregon Cremation Co. in Portland, 503-235-3104. Ashes to be returned to Medford for burial.
