Marlyne Charlotte Williams

Marlyne Charlotte Williams, 81, was born March 8, 1926 to Ernst and Hazel Willer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and went to be with our Lord Jesus on March 14, 2007.

She spent her childhood in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and graduated form Eastern High School in Madison, South Dakota. She continued her education at business school in Sioux Falls. She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked at Abel and Bach Luggage Company and met her future husband, Farrand "Fritz" Williams, who she married June 21, 1947. They spent the early years of their marriage in Milwaukee where they had four children. In 1961 they moved to the Rogue Valley with extended family and together purchased Willer's Model Bakery, which they owned and operated for 15 years. In 1976 Marlyne began working as a bookkeeper for Van Wey's Markets in Central Point and Jacksonville until her retirement in 1997.

Marlyne was a charter member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Central Point where her church activities were an important focus of her life. Since her retirement she has been especially involved in the church's Food Pantry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz, in 1975, her daughter, Gail Poirier of Bend in 1995, two brothers, Douglas Willer of Portland, and Lynn Willer of Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, Chris Danielson of Phoenix and Debbie Tosh of Beaverton and her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kitty Williams of Eugene, her brother, M.O. "Bud" Willer of Las Vegas, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Monday, March 19 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Road. A service of praise and thanksgiving of Marlyne's life in Christ will take place Tuesday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 745 N. 10th Street, Central Point with Rev. Herb Percy officiating.
