Floyd Charlie Vogel

Floyd Charlie Vogel passed away on March 13, 2007 at Royal Oaks in Medford. No services are planned.

He was born on January 4, 1909 in Paonia, Colo. to Charlie and Aretta Vogel. Floyd married Dorothy P. Murphy in 1927 in Whittier, Calif. and then married Jackie Ward in 1959 in Reno, Nev.

Floyd was employed with the Standard Oil of Calif. for 17 years, then moved to Oregon and joined California Pacific Utility in 1946. He was promoted to Ashland District Manager in 1959 and retired in 1974.

He was a member of the Ashland Elks and Rotary Club. He also was chairman of Ashland United Fund Drive; President of Ashland Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of Ashland Planning Committee; Board member of Jackson County Fed. S&L (2nd vice president.)

Floyd enjoyed having morning coffee for over 30 years with his buddies at the Ashland Elks Club. He rarely missed a day even during his retirement. Floyd's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Royal Oaks, especially Cheryl and Jan, the nurse aides.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Clark of Medford; granddaughter, Julie McVey (Tom) of Central Point; great-grandsons, Michael and David Mcvey of Medford; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marion Peter Vogel and Claire William Vogel; wives, Dorothy Vogel and Jackie Vogel; and grandson, Jack Weisenburger.
