The memorial service for Daryl Scott Straw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Olsrud Arena in the Jackson County Expo Center in Central Point, Ore. The family invites everyone to bring a pot-luck item for a reception to follow. Beverages will be provided.

Daryl, 41, of Prospect, Ore., was killed Friday, March 16th, in a snowmobile accident near Lake of the Woods. He was born May 14, 1965 in Glendale, Calif., the son of Donald and Judith Straw. He came to Ashland as a young child and attended Ashland schools graduating in 1983. On June 9, 1990 in Applegate, Ore. he married the former Jodi Spruill who survives.

He owned Rogers Floors in Lakeview for several years before operating Rogers Floor Covering from 1987 to 1994. He opened Design Pro, a concrete construction company, in 1994.

Daryl enjoyed hunting, fishing, off road adventures and snowmobiling. He was active in the 4-H programs and spent many weekends cutting firewood. He was known as a person who lived life with passion.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: his daughters, Sabra and Johanna Straw of Prospect and adopted daughter, Tia Spruill, now living in Alaska; his sister, Debbie Harden of Ashland; father, Don Straw of Eagle Point, Ore.; and his grandmother, Claudine Straw of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Straw, grandfather, Ray Straw; mother-in-law, Maxine Spruill; father-in-law, Chuck Spruill and nephew, Luke Spruill.
