Victor Berg, devoted, and fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend will be sadly missed by all. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a long illness. He is survived by Claudia, his wife and soul mate of 67 years. He is also survived by his children, Jim, Vicki, and Carole; nine admiring grandchildren; and seven adorable great grandchildren.
He worked from the time he was nine years old as a newspaper boy in Los Angeles, progressing through numerous other jobs until WWII. At that time he enlisted in the Navy Seebees, being stationed in Hawaii and the Philippines, during which time he installed the still-active runway lights at the Oahu Airport.
After moving to Medford in 1952, he became a mechanic for Caterpillar Equipment Corp. He was a successful real estate entrepreneur and landlord for the remainder of his life.
He was enthusiastically involved in the Fraternal Order of Eagles through which he developed numerous long-lasting friendships while dancing away the weekends. He and Claudia were ardent motorhome travelers throughout most of the United States, parts of Mexico and Canada, spending numerous winters in Yuma, Arizona with their snowbirding friends.
Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Eagle Point, Monday, March 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
