Hazel Eunice Oppie

Hazel Eunice Oppie, 93, of Medford, Ore., died March 26, 2007 in her home with family and friends at her side.

Hazel was born in Pedroni, Colo. on Dec. 1, 1913 to Calvin Brown and Gertie Perdue. She married Glen D. Oppie on Jan. 4, 1928 in Sterling Colo. Hazel and Glen were married for 61 years. During WWII Hazel was a burner/welder on Liberty Ships at Kaiser Shipyard in San Francisco, Calif. Hazel and Glen moved to the Rogue Valley in 1956. Hazel was a seamstress by trade & co-owner with Barbara Bullock of Sew and Sew in Phoenix, Ore.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Parsons of Ashland, Ore.; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Eda Burbach of Ault, Colo. and a sister, Isabelle Kimber of Fort Collins, Colo.; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; her son Edwin; two brothers and one sister. Hazel later married John St Clair, who also preceded her in death.

Friends may pay their respects Saturday Mar. 31st, at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, 1811 Ashland Street, Ashland, Ore. from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Sunday Apr. 1st at Ashland Four Square Church, 599 E. Main Street, Ashland, Ore. at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Bill Halstead officiating.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Denver Colo.
