Eleanor Hayes

Eleanor Hayes, 78, was born to James and Hazel Pleyer in August of 1928 in Hardin, Mo. She moved to the Rogue Valley with her parents in her childhood.

She married Edwin Hayes on June 6, 1952 in Medford, Ore. They were married for 54 years. She was an excellent homemaker and Sunday School teacher, and worked as a packer for Harry and David. For 40 years, she operated Flower Haven Florist with her husband.

She battled Multiple Sclerosis for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Hayes; three daughters, Pam (Tony) Friesen of Eagle Point, Connie (Greg) McUne, of Coos Bay, and Nancy (Ed) Whetstone, of Central Point; two brothers, Everett Pleyer of Boston, Mass. and Homer Pleyer of southern Calif.; and two sisters, Kathleen Lull of Central Point and Evalyn Cole of Aumsville, Ore.

She was devoted to her family and loved the Lord.

A graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. on April 4, 2007. Pastor Kevin Gowland of the 1st Church of the Nazarene officiating.
