The funeral service for Byrl Eugene King will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Memory Gardens Mortuary with Pastor Lee Gregory of the Medford Neighborhood Church officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.

Mr. King, 84, of Gold Hill, died Saturday, March 31, 2007. He was born January 31, 1923 in Detroit, Mich. On June 21, 1943 in Detroit, he married Barbara Fredenburg, who preceded him in death in 2003.

He lived in the Rogue Valley most of his life, and had worked for Jackson County Roads and Maintenance for 23 years, retiring in 1989. He had also worked in the timber industry. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Mr. King had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and the VFW.

Survivors include: a daughter, Jeanette Patton, of Grants Pass; a son, Michael J. King, of Gold Hill; a brother, Harold King, Redding, Calif; a sister, Betty Graham, Yuma, Ariz., and one grandchild, Gregory Patton.
