Marguerite Spiegelberg Bickel
Marguerite Spiegelberg Bickel was born on January 12, 1912 in Culbertson, Mont. She graduated from high school in Culbertson and worked as a telephone operator/supervisor. She moved to Leadville, Colo. where she worked as a central traffic controller/switchman for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. After World War II she moved to Gold Hill, Ore. and married Kermit Bickel at the Gold Hill Methodist Church on July 22, 1952.
She worked for KOBI TV Channel 5, Southern Oregon Cable TV and Pacific Teletronics, Inc. for 30 years until her retirement.
For more than 50 years she was an active member of the Gold Hill Methodist Church and Eastern Star participating in many community outreach programs. After her husband, Kermit passed away in 1983, she volunteered at the information booth at the Jackson County Airport every Monday morning for 17 years.
She is survived by her step-son, Richard Bickel; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Gold Hill Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007.
