Richard Kenneth McClanahan, Jr. passed away at his home in Butte Falls, Ore. on April 19, 2007. He died from a heart attack.

He was born on March 21, 1961 in Key West, Fla., and spent most of his life in the Rogue Valley. He graduated from Phoenix High School where he was a star football player. He worked for 23+ years for the United States Forest Service primarily as a fire fighter and crew chief. Based in Butte Falls, Ore. as a forest fire fighter, he worked in numerous sites across the United States.

A private interment will be held at the Butte Falls Cemetery in Butte Falls, Ore.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Claudia; siblings, Robert, Sharon and Michael; four nephews; and two nieces.
