Earl Knight (Skip)
Earl (Skip) Knight
Oregon native, Skip Knight, 68, passed from this world to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on January 9, 2008.
Skip was born, in Klamath Falls, on August 20, 1939 to Earl and Ruth Knight. He was a 1957 graduate of Medford High School. He received a bachelors degree from Southern
Oregon University and a master's degree from Mankato State College in Mankato, Minn.
Skip was a proud United States Army Veteran and a tireless worker for the city of Medford, where he served as a
Councilman for Ward Two for 12 years. Skip was known for being a man of the people and a champion of the under-dog. He was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in, even in the face of great opposition. Skip was proud to call
Medford his home and he wanted it to remain a good place for children to grow up.
Skip is survived by his wife of 15 years, Eva Loy Knight; one biological daughter, Michelle Wells of Moriatory, N.M.; and her children, Britney, Shawn, Lacey, Jessica and Kelsey; in addition he had four stepchildren, Sherry, Michael, Susan and Jeff. Together the couple have 20 grandchildren and were expecting their first great-grandchild. He also leaves his cousin and best friend, Leroy (Tiny) Knight; and one
brother, Sterling Knight. He was preceded in death by his
father, mother and two brothers.
Skip's hobbies included riding his Harley, meeting friends for lunch, discussing political issues, travel and camping. He was known by his grandchildren and friends for keeping a huge bonfire going during their many camping trips. He
enjoyed sitting around the fire and watching the flames and visiting with his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at West Main Church of Christ on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. Contributions in Skip's memory can be made to the D&S Harley Toy Run.
Skip was a good man and was loved by many. His friends and family will forever miss him.
