Irma Helen Goff

Irma Helen Goff

On December 25, 2007, along with celebrating the birth of Jesus, we celebrated the 92nd birthday of our mother, grandmother and friend, Irma Helen Goff; on January 7, 2008, we returned the gift of her life to Heaven.

Mom was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 25, 1915, moved to Grants Pass, Oregon at high school age, and spent the rest of her life in the Grants Pass and Medford areas. Mom was a housewife until we children were grown, and then worked as a housekeeper for the (then) Josephine General Hospital. For close to 50 years, she belonged to Nevita Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Central Point, Oregon as well as involvement with Amaranth and White Shrine in Rogue River and Grants Pass. Mom excelled at needlework, and won 2nd place at the Josephine County Fair one year, for having crocheted a beautiful afghan; an achievement of which she was very proud.

Survivors include her sons, Richard (Mary) Goff of Gold Hill, Ore; Les (Bonnie) Goff of Grants Pass; and daughter, Helen Stanley of Medford. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A gathering of family and friends will be scheduled in the spring to celebrate her life.

Don't forget to put the coffee on, mom!
