Terry Ernest Cooper died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the age of 66 in Grants Pass. A
funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1131 NE 10th St, Grants Pass. The burial will be at Rock Point I.0.0.F. Cemetery in Gold Hill.
Terry was born on May 6, 1941 in Klamath Falls. He grew up in Gold Hill and went to Hanby Grade School. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, located in Medford, in 1960. He
excelled in many sports throughout school, including football, track and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Herbert and Irene Maria-Emilia Cooper. Terry is survived by his two sons, Peter and John Paul; brother, Richard Allen Cooper; sister, Maria Dolores Cooper of Gold Hill; two nieces; two nephews; one great niece; and one great
Anyone who knew Terry knew that his two sons were the most important thing in his life. He also loved animals, especially his German Shepherds, who preceded him in death. Terry also loved to fish, hunt, read, and especially loved to play golf.
In 1963 Terry entered the Army. He served in JFK's Special Forces: The Green Berets. He
received an honorable discharge on March 14, 1968.
An accomplished and gifted carpenter with an eye for detail, Terry belonged to the Carpenters Union. He designed and built beautiful homes and furniture in Oregon, Washington,
California, and Alaska.
The most important element throughout Terry's life was his faith. He loved the Catholic Church. He also loved to read and discuss Theology.
When Terry retired, in 2006, he continued to attend mass at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Grants Pass. He loved to go to daily mass and spent many hours in the Adoration Chapel. He enjoyed helping and serving St. Anne's parish in any way he could. He also did volunteer work with the Food & Friends Senior Program, feeding the homeless. He was fortunate to be able to spend his last years in the environment he so loved.
