Edward John Zander

Edward John Zander died February 17, 2008, at his home in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born March 17, 1923 in McKenzie, N.D., to parents Peter and Catherine Weninger Zander.

During WWII, Edward, was in the Military Police at Camp White. It would be the beginning of his career in law enforcement. He was a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, an officer with both Medford and Central Point Police Departments, as well as Chief of Police in Central Point. He was also City Recorder for Central Point and worked for the Bureau of Land Management.

Edward's hobbies included camping, fishing, wood-working, spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Edward is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Patricia Swenson and Connie Shreeve; sons, Michael Zander and Barry Zander; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.

Services were held in February at the National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
