Rachel Lusk Taylor

November 11, 1925 - March 10, 2008

Oh how we love her and will miss her. Rachel Lusk Taylor was born in Pampa, Texas on November 11, 1925 to Troy and Frankie Hefner. Rachel was surrounded by many of her loved ones, when on March 10, 2008, following a stroke, she went home to be with her Father in Heaven. So many lives have been blessed by her. She was our mother, our mother-in-law, our grandmother and great-grandmother, our sister, our aunt, and our friend. She will hold a special place in our hearts until we see her again in Heaven.

Rachel mirrored her creator through all the creative gifts with which He blessed her. She worked as a seamstress most of her life, sewing for her children, owning her own drapery business, and quilting for family, friends and those in need. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, knitting, crocheting,

working puzzles, and playing cards, until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,

Alfred Taylor; her son, Jerry Lusk; her grandson, Joshua Hutchinson; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Doug Davis,

Selene and Duane Ash, Lucretia and Terry Burton, Cindi and Bill Rackley, Sophronia and Harry Selby, and LaDorna and Sonny McLaughlin; two step-daughters, Carol Whitehead and Kay Costello; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. She is also survived by her puppy, Duchess, who was her constant companion for the last five years. Duchess gave her great joy and unconditional love, which helped her accept the unconditional love of her Father in Heaven. Duchess misses her, as much as all who loved her.

We would like to thank Rachel's neurosurgeon, Dr. Donald Ross, and the wonderful staff in ICU at Rogue Valley Medical Center, for the loving care they gave to her and the support they provided for her family. And a special thank you to Jody, RN, Mona, RN, and Sarah, LCSW, for their kindness and concern.

Please join us, as we celebrate Rachel's wonderful life, on

Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held at the West Main Church of Christ, 1701 West Main in

Medford. In lieu of flowers, please send donations, in her memory, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at P.O. Box 810, Memphis TN 38101.
