Lucille Claytor (Pat)

Lucille (Pat) Claytor

Lucille (Pat) Claytor passed away on April 13, 2008 at

Providence Hospital. She was the only child of Hiram Rainey and Anna Schumacker of Minneapolis, Minn. Pat

graduated from North High School in Minneapolis in 1933 and married Jack Whittenberg in 1934. They had two

children, David Jack Whittenberg of Arizona and Diane

Sharon Holm (Lloyd) of Butte Falls, Ore.

Pat later married Maurice (Frenchy) Claytor, on January 31, 1972. They spent many years working together in the food industry, he as a chef and she as a waitress and banquet manager. Pat also did her part during World War II, working at the Portland shipyards. Pat ended her career as the food manager at the Portland Meadows and Multnomah

Kennel Club.

Following Frenchy's passing on May 5, 1995, she moved to Shady Cove, Ore., to be near her daughter and family. She continued to be active, volunteering at the White City

Human Resource, SMART Reading and the wild flower show in Shady Cove.

Pat loved to sew and was active in the Linus Quilting

Project. All who knew her will know how much she loved gardening, reading, writing letters, visiting friends, dining out and her Catholic faith. Pat was very independent and was able to live alone until her recent illness. She never lost her great sense of humor.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jack Whittenberg, Karl Whittenberg, Curtis Vorbeck (Sherry), Janis Barnett (Rick) and Eric (Lisa); 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren; cousins, Barbara Gates and Loraine Meier and Gertrude Theis; niece, Zoe Ann Spriet; and nephew, Gary Fuller. Her extended family includes, Jackie Whittenberg, Mike Holm, Mark Holm (Lisa), Natona James (Sean), Kevin Holm (Petra), Nichole Monahan (Sean), and Natasha Byrne (Sean) and their nine children.

We want to thank Art and Cathy Russell of the Golden Hours foster home, who loved and cared for Pat, for the last year and a half and the staff at Providence Hospital who helped Pat with care.

Burial was held Friday, April 18, 2008 at Skyline Memorial, Portland, Ore. A memorial for Pat will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 56 Williams Lane, Shady Cove, on May 10, 2008 with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. A potluck will be held at the church at 11:30 a.m. Come and share your love.
