Joe E. Mussack, 84, of Medford, Ore., passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his home. There will be a Catholic Mass held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountain in Ashland with Fr. Sean Weeks officiating.
Joe was born on May 27, 1923 in Stanton, Nebr. He served for five years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Joe married the love of his life, Lorraine Preston on September 14, 1947 in Culver City, Calif. They moved to Talent in 1993 and subsequently moved to Medford in May, 2007. After 40+ years in the banking business, as Vice President Manager of Security Pacific (currently Bank of America), Joe retired.
Joe's hobbies included cards, cards and more cards and most defintely, his family. He was a 40+ year Rotarian, belonged to the AFSA for 14 years, was a part of the Mexico Sister City Program for more than 50 years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lorraine; daughters, Nedra Holladay of Burbank, Calif., Therese O'Brien (John) of Milford, Mass., Colleen Bauder (Jim) of Chatsworth, Calif., Molly Beick (Ron) of Medford, and Sue Mussack (Steve) of Simi Valley, Calif.; sons, John Mussack of Honolulu, Hawaii, Tim Mussack (Maria) of Herald, Calif., Chris Mussack (Kathy) of Chaska, Minn., Andy Mussack (Karen) of Porter Ranch, Calif., and Jerry Mussack (Jean) of San Leandro, Calif.; sister Betty Volker of Stanton, Nebr.; brother, Jim Mussack (Irene) of Inglewood, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Mussack and brothers, Bert, David and Louis.
