The memorial service for Randall Marvin Emry will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Talent Friends Church, Talent, Ore. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Fields, of the Talent Friends Church.

Randall M. Emry, 78, of Talent, Ore., died Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at home. He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Miles City, Mont., to Iva and Luther Emry. On July 21, 1950, at Greenleaf, Idaho, he married the former Norma Jean Davis, who survives. In 1953, Mr. Emry graduated from Pacific College, now known as George Fox University, with a degree in Theology and pastoral studies. He pastored several Friends Churches in Entiat, Wash., Meadows, Idaho, Boise, Idaho, Ashland, Ore., and the Talent Friends Church in Talent, Oregon. In 1970, Mr. Emry began working as an animal control officer for Jackson County, retiring in 1994. Randall enjoyed singing gospel songs in church choirs and quartets. In the late '40s he traveled and sang with the Four Flats Quartet. His hobbies and interests included rock collecting and woodworking.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, two sons, Daniel Emry, of Shasta Lake City, Calif., and Roger Emry, of Talent, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Hanson, of Central Point, Ore., and Teresa Bartell, of Phoenix, Ore.; two brothers, Donald and Gary Emry, of Boise, Idaho; sister, Corrine Douty, of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
