Elinor Lucille Hanson

Elinor Lucille Hanson departed this world on May 28, 2009. She was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Two Rivers, Wis., the daughter of Andrew Zabinski and Mary Schipper.

She was united in marriage to Edward Olaf Hanson on April 26, 1941, in Two Rivers, Wis., and the couple settled there after the end of the Second World War. They were married 67 years when Ed passed away in September 2008.

Over the years, Ed and Ella traveled around the country, living in Wisconsin, New York, New Hampshire, California and finally settling in Medford, Ore., in 2000.

Elinor was a homemaker and a fashionable dresser who enjoyed driving her red Buick convertible, playing bridge and spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart parish in Medford, Ore.

She will be remembered for her spirited personality, her devotion to her family, and her colorful wit.

She is survived by her son, Scott Hanson (Amy), of Central Point; granddaughter, Erica Meager (Steve); and great-granddaughter, Reese Meager, of Central Point; granddaughter, Shannon Bell (Sean), of Lacey, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Harriet Glynn, of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Marilyn Hanson, of Kohler, Wis.; Joleen Hanson of Central Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Elinor on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford, with interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
