Richard "Rick" John Cook
Rick Cook, 57, passed away June 25, 2009 at his Central Point home, from an apparent heart attack.
Rick was a well known businessman in the Construction Industry.
He founded RA Cook Inc., Cook Industrial Corp and was currently president of Cook Crane, Inc.
Rick was born in 1952 in Medford, Ore. the son of William and Betty Cook.
He graduated from Medford High in 1970. On June 15, 1991, he married Andrea West McMullen in Jacksonville, Ore.
He is survived by Andrea and three daughters, Ivy Rachelle Cook, at home,
McKenzie (Scott) Casad, Washington D.C. and Ashley (Aaron) Simpson, of Portland; his father, William (Shirley) Cook; his mother, Betty Comm; two brothers, Mark (Penny) Solomon and Matt Solomon; two sisters, Debra (Nils) Huggins and Michelle (Brendan) Murphy; and 13 nieces and nephews.
He loved chukkar hunting in the Trout mountains, crabbing on the Oregon coast, riding his many and various motor cycles, boats and snow mobiles. Rick was a Gourmet cook and BBQ master. He could can 70 jars of fruit in one setting. Rick and his team (Andy and Ivy) took home the trophy from the Jackson County Chili Cook Off last year.
He enjoyed shooting and taught Andy and Ivy to be competitive trap shooters. Rick loved music and knew all the words to hundreds of songs.
He was a devoted Son, Father and Husband. He was dearly loved by his wife and daughters, a star in his extended family, leaving an enormous void in the lives of in-laws, Gary and Dee West; brothers and sisters-in-law, Matt and Tori, Whitney and Paul, and Begee and Kendra.
A memorial service will be held on July 4th at 3:00 p.m. at Conger-Morris Funeral Chapel, Medford. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the Richard J. Cook Memorial Fund, Premier West Bank, Crater Lake Plaza Br. 3369 Crater Lake Hwy, Medford, OR 97504
