Bob ended his journey on earth to meet with our Lord on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009. On May 31, 1942, in Interior, S.D., he was born to Margaret and Dewain Saunders, who preceded him in death. He married his childhood friend, Luella Kusiek on Oct. 1, 1961. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters, Cathy Saunders (Ray), Berryville, Va. Alane Saunders, Roseburg, Ore., Barbie Harper (Paul), Winnemucca, Nev. and Cheryl Saunders, Berryville, Va. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Stephanie Mills, Hannah Earl and Max Harper, as well as brothers, T.D. (Sharon), Kenneth (Helen) and sisters, Caralyn Slosson and Shirley Latinis (Fred). Bob and Lou moved to Talent in 1970 and he spent most of his career as a journeyman electrician at Sims Electric which later merged with Pacific Electrical Contractors in Medford. He was a lifetime member of Warren Masonic Lodge #10 and active in Hillah Shriners, being a charter member of the Hillah Motor Patrol. He also served as Worthy Grand Patron, Order of the Eastern Star. He loved to travel and visited several different countries.
Bob was an avid horseman and was instrumental in starting the 'Cowhorse Olympics' (snaffle bit futurity) in Central Point. He and Lou spent many years square dancing and Bob served as President of the Ramblin' Rogues Square Dance Club. He was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix, 121 W. Second St., Phoenix, where there will be a celebration of his life on Sat., October 10th at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mike Foster and Masonic Brother Steve Travis will officiate.
