Betty Jean Potts Martin

Betty Jean Potts Martin, 74, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Ennis Care Center Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009.

Betty was born to Jerry and Lois (White) Potts in Springfield, Mo., on April 12, 1935. She grew up in California and graduated from high school at Antelope Valley California in 1951. On June 12, 1982 she married Roy Martin, after their marriage they lived in New York, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas and settled in Ennis in 2007.

She worked several different jobs as a secretary including New Cannan School District and Sam P. Wallace Mechanical Contractors.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Martin, of Ennis; two daughters, Pam Kilpatrick and Susan Mickelson, both of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Billie and Kenneth; stepchildren, Wayne, Myra, Beverly and Theresa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Joyce Carter, Keith and Dorothy Keeney, Mohammad and Bonnie Pishanidar and Mel and Willie Faye Rimmer. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Graveside services will be Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with Chaplain Ted Brown officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.

Memorial may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Ennis Care Center and Family First Hospice for the loving care they gave to Betty.
