It is with sadness we announce the passing of Wilma Pearl Guss in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Dec. 15, 2009. Wilma was born in Hepler, Kans., Jan. 21, 1919 to Ethel and Will Watkins.

She married James Ancel Guss in Hepler, Kans., November 1935 when she was 16 years old. She and Jim left Kansas in 1940 to begin a new life in California. They eventually settled in Central Point, Ore., where together they worked and raised two daughters, Sandra and Carma. The family traveled yearly to Kansas for visits with maternal and paternal grandparents, and numerous relatives.

Wilma was active in the Church of Christ, where she attended and found pleasure and peace in studying the Bible. Wilma like to garden, and had the biggest and most beautiful flowers on the block. Wilma worked at the Central Point Elementary School as Head Cook for many years. She loved to sew and hand stitched clothing before she had a sewing machine. She especially enjoyed making prom dresses for her daughters. Later in life she enjoyed crafting and arts.

Wilma was proceeded in death by her husband Jim in 1978; her parents Ethel and Will Watkins, and her sister Laura Hull.

She is survived by daughters Sandra Teeter and husband Joe of Dayton, Nev.; Carma Smith and husband Ron of Klamath Falls, Ore. Surviving are four grandchildren: Steven Teeter, Jodi Teeter Harms, Brad Smith, and Ryan Smith. She leaves eight great grandchildren: Justin, son of Steve and Julie Teeter, Albany, Ore.; Kailyn, Kairee, and Jake, children of Brad Smith, Klamath Falls, Ore.; and Rylee, Braidy, Coltin, and Jesse, children of Ryan and Kelly Smith of Ramsey, Minn. Wilma has two surviving brothers living in Kansas: Everett Watkins and Bill Watkins.
