Milagros C. Stroup
Milagros "Millie" C. Stroup, 90, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Alice and Mike Neill, in White City, Ore.
Millie was born June 28, 1920, in San Sabastian, Puerto Rico, to Nicodemo and Elisa (Soto) Cardona. Millie met and married Robert Stroup in 1942, in Puerto Rico. She and her family traveled, living in numerous states and overseas while in the Air Force before they settled in Ashland, Ore., in 1962. Millie devoted her life to raising her children. She enjoyed traveling with her husband during their retirement years, spending the winters in Arizona and summers at Hyatt Lake, as well as frequent trips to Reno. She loved playing cards with her family and is best remembered for her hospitality, especially when she prepared her bread pudding, chicken rice, and fried chicken.
Millie is survived by her children, Alice (Michael) Neill, Nancy (Leland) Roberts, Robert (Lorrie) Stroup and Patrick (Teresa) Stroup; sisters, Elisa Cardona Soto, Consuelo Cardona Soto, Blanca Cardona, Ofelia Cardona, Teresa Cardona and Carmen Cordona of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Bobby, Angie, Micheal, Kimberely, Coleen, Molly, Lindsey, Kristie, Matthew, Jason, Gabriel, and Bethany; as well as 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Stroup; brothers, Luis and Jose Cardona; sister, Lucy Cardona; and grandchild, Joshua Stroup.
