Edward W. Marcisz

Edward W. Marcisz, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 17, 2011. He was born October 7, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to George and Catherine Marcisz.

Edward served in the U.S. Army as an infantry signalman during WWII, and was stationed in Europe. After the war, he chose carpentry to be his career. His many hobbies included fishing, gardening, gemstone cutting and rock polishing. He was also a musician, playing the concertina to the delight of his nieces, nephews, and their families. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Club.

He is survived by his brother, Frank E. Marcisz; nephews, Walter Sokolowski and Dan Marcisz; nieces, Charlotte Geear, Connie Miller, Janet Marcisz, Susan Darland, and Beth Ratty. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sophie (Marcisz) Sokolowski; and brother, Theodore Marcisz.

A graveside service will be held at Perl Funeral Home, Siskiyou Memorial Park, Friday, January 21, 2011, at 2:00 p.m.
